Awards 2008 and before

2008: “Guenstige Prognose”

  • It is already a sensation that a film from Germany would land as the only shining star
    in the Hollywood sky. Director Peter Ladkani´s 30 minute short film “Guenstige Prognose”
    produced by Ferryfilm, had had bright prospects of an Oscar in 2009 because it had been
    one of the candidates on the consideration list of this famous award ceremony.
    Even though the film did not win this coveted trophy it got another important one instead.
    In 2008, at the Los Angeles international Short Film Festival, “Guenstige Prognose”
    was chosen “Best Foreign Short” and rewarded for “heavy entertainment”, for the approach
    to an upsetting and coevally one of the most repressed criminal phenomenon of our society.

2008: MINI Clubman Showroom Film

  • At the New York Film Festival, which in December 2008 celebrated its 50th anniversary, and as in every
    year in eight individual competitions the best work in the categories of Advertising and marketing were awarded.
    The Scanwerk graded “Mini Clubman Showroom film” was awarded the Gold World Medal in the category of:
    Industrial Productions (Sales).

2006: Smatka Music Video “Wrong Love”

  • “Wrong love” is not just any ordinary run of the mill music video. One can realize this while watching the clip
    but also from the numerous prizes which the video won prove its worth: the Platinum Remi Award as
    Experimental Video at the Worldfest Independant Film Festival in Houston, in May 2006 the Hollywood
    Discovery Award as Best Music Video at the Hollywood Film Festival and 2007 the award as
    Best International Music Video at the New York International Independent Film & Video Festival.

2006: “Blood Trails”

  • This film has left blood traces, metaphorically speaking especially on the audience of the
    Dead by Dawn Festivals in Edinburgh in 2006. There, as every year in April, are awarded the best works in the
    horror genre and the German production “Blood Trails” received the popular Audience Award.

2005: “Dont Come Knocking”

  • “Dont come knocking” with the actors Sam Shepard and Jessica Lange in the leading roles,
    was nominated for the European film award, in the categories: Best Film, Best Director, Best Editing, Best Camera.
    First and foremost impressive, so decided the jury and the audience at the German Film Awards which take place
    every two years and which is to be the European pendant to the Oscars, was the photography of the film.
    So Franz Lustig, the director of photography got the winner award for his work.

2004: “Poem”

  • “Poem” was awarded a prize which involves a further medium: the internet. The work won the
    Grimme Online Award 2004 in the domain “Web-Media”.

Awards 2009

2009: Desperados On The Block

  • Eine Nominierung auf dem Filmfestival Max Ophüls Preis hat “Desperados On The Block” erhalten und die Gunst der Zuschauer in jedem Fall gewonnen. Der Film wurde ebenfalls als “Bester Langfilm” für den First Steps Award nominiert. Auf dem bayerischen 5-Seen-Filmfestival hat der Film von Tomasz Emil Rudzik den Nachwuchsförderpreis gewonnen. Der 95-Minuten-Streifen erzählt von München, jedoch aus einer ganz anderen, fremden Perspektive und ist doch wieder universell gültig ohne regionale Bindung. Der Film war in jenem Jahr schließlich auch offizieller Beitrag beim 57. Festival de San Sebastián und konkurrierte um den Kutxa-New-Director’s Award.

2009: MAN 250 Years

  • The result, an award-winning anniversary film, a time travel of this giant of German economic history,
    which elaborated many technical innovations, inter alia the first German rotary printing press,
    the diesel engine, which brought the first German Rhine steamer, the Wuppertal suspension railway,
    lots of spectacular steel bridges and the central technology of the ARIANE booster rocket. Highlight of the many awards:
    The Gold World Medal in the category “Industrial Production: Public Relations” at the New York Festivals,
    the biggest and most important industry film competition and finally a nomination for the German Economy Award 2009.
    The other awards: Gold award at the 17th ITVA (Integrated TV & Video Association), Silver award at the Ottocar,
    the biggest Automobile Film and Multimedia Festival, and Gold at the Intermedia-Globe at the
    World Media Festival in Hamburg.

2009: “SPPD – The Pig Is Dead”

  • The Internet Serial “SPPD – The Pig is dead”, produced by Studio Seidel, directed by Florian Seidel,
    shot by Torsten Lippstcok and colorcorrected by Scanwerk is winner of the New York Independent Film
    and Video Festival Award autumn 2009 in the cathegory “Best International Short Film”.

2009 / 2008: “Escape”

  • 2008 The first time film “Escape”, from producer and director Julia Zimanofsky, which was post produced
    by Scanwerk, was placed on the applicant list (03/12/2008) for the presentation of prizes for Filmplus
    of the Forum in Cologne: for film cut and art assembly. The winner was the short horror film the End, also:
    the BMW Group sponsoring prize for the cut. The young editor Tobias Suhm received the award endowed with
    2500 euros for his assembly with the ationale: In July 2009, the short and silent film “Escape” won another
    sensational award: the Shocking Shorts Award 2009. Around 200 directors had applied for the trophy which Julia
    was presented by Mario Adorf at the gala in Munich. The prize also included a two week workshop in Hollywood.
